Meet The Founder
Hi, I am Melana Joy! As a Tuskegee-trained engineer with a master’s degree from Georgia Tech and over a decade of experience as a nuclear reactor inspector, I know the value of critical thinking. Since college, I have tutored, whether it be my peers, volunteering at schools, or contract work. As of late I have seen how the reliance on automated tools can allow students to arrive at answers without ever developing the internal judgment to evaluate them. During my time as a nuclear reactor inspector with the U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission, our mantra was: “Trust, but verify.”Trust mattered. But independent verification was essential. That principle now guides The Joy Method™. Technology is valuable. Calculators are useful. AI can be powerful. But students must develop the ability to estimate what should happen, reason through why it works, and verify results independently. Estimate. Reason. Verify. Because in the age of AI, logic must lead!

"Every student deserves to understand why, not just memorize how."
In a world increasingly shaped by artificial intelligence, the ability to think logically, reason independently, and verify results isn't optional — it's essential. The Joy Method™ prepares students not just for their next exam, but for a lifetime of confident problem-solving.The Joy Method™ was created to rebuild logical reasoning in a digital world where answers are instant but understanding is not.
